About Dr. Ng
Dr. Ng is a Canadian board certified specialist in Prosthodontics. He attended dental school at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta where he graduated in 2007. Immediately following this, he pursued a one-year hospital based residency program focusing on treating the dental needs of medically compromised patients.
Following the completion of this training, he continued at the University of Alberta Hospital as a staff dentist providing complex dental care for patients both in the clinical and the operating room setting. At the same time, he managed a rural practice in Elk Point, Alberta which is located 2-hours NE of Edmonton, Alberta, where he treated patients in all areas of dentistry.
Following 4 years of practice, Dr. Ng pursued a three-year specialist training program in the area of Prosthodontics at the University of British Columbia. In 2013, he received a Diploma in Prosthodontics and an MSc in Dentistry. His research thesis evaluated and compared the accuracy of the digital impression technique against the conventional impression technique by evaluating the fit of crown margins fabricated by both methods.
Dr. Ng currently maintains a position at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry as an Assistant Clinical Professor where he enjoys teaching both undergraduate dental students as well as specialty graduate students. He also is on staff with Vancouver Coastal Health, serving as a clinical prosthodontic instructor to the General Practice Residency program at the Vancouver General Hospital dental department. As well, he maintains a position with the Provincial Health Services Authority as a prosthodontist providing specialized care to both in- and outpatients at the BC Cancer Agency.
His present research interests include areas of digital dentistry including digital impressions, CAD/CAM technology and milling technologies for dentistry.
