Study Club: Advanced Prosthodontics for the General Practitioner - Dr. Chris Wyatt

Now accepting registration for the 2014/15 courses!

Time: Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 10 pm. Starting October through May. Limited enrollment.
Location: Hillcrest Community Centre, 4575 Clancy Loranger Way (near Nat Bailey Stadium), Vancouver, British Columbia

This seminar-based program will emphasize diagnosis and treatment planning and various fixed prosthodontic options to restore individual teeth and the partially edentulous patient.

The topics will include occlusion, materials, and procedures from ceramic veneers to long-span bridges.

Each 3.5 hour session will include a 2 hour seminar, a 1 hour case review or participant presentation plus a half hour for questions. Participants will be encouraged to present interesting cases or published papers for discussion.

This course involves 28 hours of continuing education instruction.

Intro To Digital Dentistry For The G. P. - UBC Continuing Dental Education

This introductory half day will explore the general principles of using digital technology in the dental practice today. With multiple areas of the dental process utilizing digital methods, this course will journey through various aspects of dentistry that have in some way or another, been revolutionized by technology.

Time: Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to noon. Starting October 2014 through May 2015. Limited enrollment.
Location: Nobel BioCare Oral Health Centre, 2151 Wesbrook Mall, UBC, Vancouver, British Columbia

As the evolution of digital dentistry continues to reach every facet of the dental practice, this seminar series will discuss the relevant topics of digital dentistry taking the clinician from digital impressions, to digital design and manufacturing both in-office and in-lab, to digital integration and office workflow as well as the use of digital media in office promotion.

The key points discussed in this series will help to keep the clinician current with the necessary understanding and skills required to utilize the technology which is ever increasing its role for the dental profession today.

Participants will experience hands-on use of the technology described.

Each three hour session will involve a one hour of lecture based materials followed by demonstration and hands-on use.. Participants will be encouraged to present interesting cases for discussion.

  • October: Digital Practice Management and Digital Office Integration
  • November: Digital Impressions
  • December: Dental Laboratory CAD/CAM, crowns and abutments
  • January: Digital Implant Treatment Planning
  • March: In-office CAD/CAM
  • April: Guided Implant Surgery

This course involves 18 hours of continuing education instruction.
